I’m sorry I’ve been a little MIA lately. Between our move, my job change, spending a week serving on staff at the YMCA Blue Ridge Leaders’ School, and then the nasty cold I got from being so on the go, I needed to take some time to focus on finding my rhythm again.
There are some exciting things in the works including the much awaited home tour! I’m also going to share some tips and tricks for how I snagged a lot of our new pieces at a discounted price, and my method to the thrifting/Craigslist madness. I also have a MAJOR giveaway coming up so make sure you’re subscribed to my email list that way you’re in the know!
So today on Coffee Talk, I wanted to share 5 of my favorite things right now:
Stuart Weitzman Ava Sandal
I wear these shoes with everything. They’re comfortable, a modern flair with the angled heel, and come in a host of fun colors (I bought them in Paprika!). Most of the colors are also on sale right now (#win). In general, I’m a Stuart Weitzman junkie. It’s by far my favorite brand of shoe. If you’ve never ventured into SW, I typically go up half a size since their shoes tend to run slightly smaller.
Basically my favorite podcast right now (see link here). I got to meet these badass babes at Create & Cultivate LA, and have felt inspired by their comedic honesty and discussion topics that never disappoint. Elizabeth Kott and Stephanie Simbari mesh current culture with wellness topics that cover Thyroid 101 to Nail Lifestyle, and everything in between.
Suncatchers
Some of you have been asking about how we get our swoon-worthy rainbows all throughout our house. One of my closest friends gave me one of these suncatchers as a birthday gift and I loved it so much that I bought two more to put on different windows throughout our house so that there are rainbows at different times of the day (linked below!). I mean, who doesn’t love to sip their morning coffee in a rainbow-filled room?
Eminence Sun Defense Minerals
The lovely ladies at Wax Poetic in Carrboro, NC turned me on to this stuff and it hasn’t left my purse since. First off, this brand is amazing. Organic ingredients, and made using Biodynamic farming practices, they’re not only good for you, but also for the environment. I use a few different products from this line in my daily skincare routine (post to come!), but the Sun Defense Minerals is by far my favorite addition. Most days I don’t wear any make-up, but I really didn’t like putting on sunscreen because it was too heavy for my skin and it would inevitable make me break out. This is an incredibly light powder with SPF 30. It comes in lightly tinted shades (if you’re into that) and in a translucent color which really just gives your skin a nice matte look. It also comes with an applicator built in, so it’s great to use on the go.
Hearth & Hand by Magnolia for Target
If you haven’t been introduced to this brand yet, you’re welcome and I’m sorry for your wallet. I’ve linked a few of my favorite pieces from their current collection for Target. We just got the floral napkins and I’m obsessed. Nothing makes you feel more adult when you use actual fabric napkins and not paper towels (#realtalk). I also love the seafoam green glassware, especially those adorable salt and pepper shakers.
