Here’s your weekend recap!

Nathan was out of town for work on our anniversary so we had a belated weekend celebration which included going to The Zen Succulent Pop-up at Anthropologie at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham, NC! If you don’t already know, Nathan and I are major plant people. I mean, I don’t use the hashtag #crazyplantlady for nothing. If Nathan could make our condo into a botanical rainforest, I’m pretty sure he would. So, when I got the email from Anthropologie that this amazing collab was going to happen in celebration of Earth Day and that it was also going to be during anniversary weekend, it was a solid win (& an easy gift for N).

Meet Megan – she is the daughter of the mother/daughter team who own and run The Zen Succulent and she is a totally amazing human. Not only is she super knowledgable, personable, and a great instructor, but she runs this wildly successful business out of Durham. They were recently featured by HGTV where Megan designed a “Living Wall” featuring faux succulents, air plants, and preserved mosses that was 10 feet tall! It is absolutely amazing, and you can check out more about it here.

Besides all of the succulent goodies that were available for purchase at the pop-up, Megan also lead a terrarium making workshop that Nathan and I attended. We both learned (more) about making terrariums and got to both make our own! We learned everything from the history of terrariums, the right materials to use, plant types, and tons of care tips for all of you out there who have a black thumb (ha!).

Ps. If you are one of those who tend to kill every green thing you touch – never fear! I think you may really like terrariums. They are beautiful and low maintenance, which is the best combo.

My finished product! I was so pleased with how it turned out and can’t wait to see how it grows!

After we left the pop-up we needed a little coffee pick-me-up so we went over to our favorite Carrboro coffee spot, Gray Squirrel Coffee Co. It was a beautiful day in the triangle and we wanted to take full advantage of not just the weather, but having a stress-free day to spend with each other. Gray Squirrel Coffee Co. has not just amazing coffee, but great staff. It’s one of my favorite places to work when I feel like getting out of the office. Check them out here.

This dress is pretty much my favorite thing right now. It’s soft, breezy, and I can’t get enough of the sunflower print, and neither could other people either because I couldn’t go 10 steps without a compliment about the print. It really is lovely! And…it’s 20% off right now at Urban Outfitters (see here)! I would definitely take advantage of the sale while it lasts! It also comes in a few other colors and prints, including a clean white linen which I am considering purchasing while the sale is going on.
