Finishing Strong for Team RMHC

As most of you know, I just recently ran in the Bank of America Chicago Marathon for Ronald McDonald House Charities! It was an amazing experience and I’m excited to share it with all of you!

But first! A little bit about RMHC…

Helping a sick child fight their illness takes a big enough emotional toll on a family. Adding a financial strain can make it all almost too much to bear. RMHC can help address those problems, whether they involve housing that’s near a hospitalized child, the expense of staying together in another city, or even getting basic medical and dental care in a vulnerable community. Since 1974, RMHC has been making children happier and healthier by keeping families together during a time when every minute counts.

This was my third marathon and I felt priviledged to represent both RMHC and my sorority, Alpha Delta Pi. Alpha Delta Pi has contributed more than $12 million to the RMHC since 1979, and as a member of Alpha Delta Pi, I’ve been a volunteer for RMHC for almost a decade.

The generosity of volunteers and donors make it all possible. In return, families either stay at no cost or are asked to make a donation up to $25 per day, depending on the House. The RMHC Global Policy is that families are never turned away; if it’s not possible to pay, the fee is waived.

With the help of my friends and family, I raised $1,195 for RMHC and as I crossed that finish line I thought of each and every person who helped me on this journey. Thank you so much!

Now, take a look into my Chicago Marathon and #TeamRMHC experience!
